Sabine State Bank has served its customers since 1901, assisting individuals, small and mid-size businesses, municipal and political subdivisions. Take a look at how Sabine State Bank came about.
The Sabine State Bank & Trust Company was originally established on May 29, 1901 by a group of leading citizens in the Many, Louisiana area. The bank was initially called Sabine Valley Bank and was housed in the first brick building in the town of Many. The financial institution boasted capital of $12,000 upon opening its doors. In 1904 Many State Bank was founded, opening with capital of $20,000.
A vast fire destroyed both Sabine Valley Bank and Many State Bank in 1906. Due to the fire, the banks consolidated and chartered a new financial institution named Sabine State Bank & Trust Company.
In October 1973, the Bank initiated its present branch banking philosophy by establishing its first non-local branch since the 1920's. The bank established a full service branch in Zwolle, which was located in a low cost, low maintenance building especially designed for that purpose. To serve the parish, branches were later established in Converse, Pleasant Hill, Florien and near the beautiful Toledo Bend Reservoir. Other locations in the town of Many include a Mortgage Loan office, Uptown Branch and the Operations Center.
At the request of the U.S. Department of Defense in 1984, the Bank established its first military branch at Fort Polk. Additionally, a branch was established in Leesville with a drive-in branch and a loan production office.
In June of 2002 Sabine State Bank ventured across the Toledo Bend Reservoir to open its first bank in Hemphill, Texas. Sabine State Bank now has expanded into other areas of East Texas.
Currently, Sabine State Bank operates over 47 offices in Louisiana, five offices in Texas and over 84 ATMs. Sabine State Bank has served its customers since 1901, assisting individuals, small and mid-size businesses, municipal and political subdivisions. Sabine State Bank is dedicated to the areas in which we serve and is committed to supporting our local communities.
